Information is collected and used on this site as indicated in the privacy policy.

One way in which information is collected is through technology called “Cookies.”

Cookies are used at escaping-the-matrix.com as described in this statement.

3.1. WHAT ARE COOKIES

Cookies are files that are stored in the browser by a web server when a specific website is visited to record the user’s activities on that site.

A Cookie is not a computer virus, nor a Trojan, nor a worm, nor is it spam, nor spyware, nor does it open pop-up windows.

3.2. INFORMATION COLLECTED BY COOKIES

Cookies are only associated with an anonymous user and their browser, and store technical and statistical data and personal content preferences.

They do not provide references that allow personal data to be deduced or identify a user, but rather their browser. If you regularly browse a site with a browser while you are logged in and you change the browser to go to the same page, you can see that the second browser does not maintain your preferences or your session.

Likewise, escaping-the-matrix.com will be able to know all the web pages viewed by users, so that it will be able to provide or offer information appropriate to the tastes and preferences of each user.

3.3. TYPE, PURPOSE AND OPERATION OF COOKIES

The first purpose of Cookies is to provide the user with faster access to the selected pages.

The Escaping the Matrix website uses Cookies to personalize and facilitate user navigation as much as possible.

Cookies, depending on their permanence, can be divided into session or permanent Cookies. The first ones expire when the user closes the browser. The latter expire depending on when the purpose for which they serve is fulfilled (for example, so that the user remains identified on a website) or when they are manually deleted.

Additionally, depending on their objective, Cookies can be classified as follows:

PERFORMANCE COOKIES: This type of Cookie remembers your preferences for the tools found on the web pages, so you do not have to configure it again each time you visit it. As an example, this typology includes:

– Volume settings for video or sound players.

– The video transmission speeds that are compatible with your browser.

GEO-LOCATION COOKIES: These Cookies are used to know which country you are in when browsing the web. This Cookie is completely anonymous, and is only used to help target content to your location.

REGISTRATION COOKIES: Registration Cookies are generated once the user has registered or subsequently logged in, and are used to identify the user on the pages with the following objectives:

– Keep the user identified so that, if they close a page, the browser or the computer and at another time or another day they return to that page, they will continue to be identified, thus facilitating their navigation without having to identify themselves again. This functionality can be deleted if the user logs out, so this Cookie is deleted and the next time the user enters the page they must log in to be identified.

– Check if the user is authorized to access certain pages.

– Additionally, some pages may use connectors with social networks such as Facebook or Twitter. When the user registers on a page with credentials from a social network, they authorize the social network to save a persistent Cookie that remembers their identity and guarantees access to the pages until it expires. The user can delete this Cookie and revoke access to the pages through social networks by updating their preferences on the specific social network.

ANALYTICS COOKIES: Every time a user visits a page, a tool from a third-party provider (such as Google Analytics) generates an analytical Cookie on the user’s computer. This Cookie, which is only generated during the visit, will be used on subsequent visits to the site pages to anonymously identify the visitor. The main objectives pursued are:

– Allow the anonymous identification of browsing users through the “Cookie” (identifies browsers and devices, not people) and therefore the approximate accounting of the number of visitors and the trend over time.

– Anonymously identify the most visited content and therefore the most attractive to users.

– Know if the user who is accessing is new or a repeat visit.

Unless the user decides to register on the website, the “Cookie” will never be associated with any personal data that may identify them. These Cookies will only be used for statistical purposes that help optimize the user experience on the site.
